Ivan “Ivica” Horvat was a key figure in Yugosloslavian football during the 1940s and 1950s, earning 60 caps and playing in two World Cups and two Olympic finals. A composed and intelligent central defender, he was known for his clean style and excellent positioning. Though he never won a major trophy, his consistency and leadership made him one of the finest defenders of his era in Eastern Europe.
